Wolford Mona Lisa - 3D Character Creation & Motion Capture

It was a profound honor to collaborate with Wolford/DDB to breathe digital life into an art history icon for their new season campaign. By utilizing advanced Character Creation and Motion Capture technologies, we worked together to transform the "Mona Lisa" into a contemporary fashion protagonist, blending classic aesthetics with modern digital artistry.

Overview

The Wolford Mona Lisa project was an ambitious creative journey that sought to recontextualize one of the world’s most famous faces within the sphere of high-end Digital Fashion. Our team was thrilled to support the vision of DDB/ Wolford, focusing on the delicate balance of preserving the Artist and Performer's historical essence while integrating her into a sleek, 3D environment.

Welcoming this legendary persona into our digital pipeline allowed us to explore the intersection of art and technology. Through meticulous Character Creation, we aimed to honor the original masterpiece's nuance while providing the flexibility required for a high-impact global fashion campaign.

Project Experience
 

To capture the sophisticated movements required for the Wolford Mona Lisa, we utilized high-fidelity Motion Capture to ensure every gesture reflected the elegance of the Wolford brand. This technical process was a shared exploration with our partners to ensure the Character Creation felt grounded in a realistic, physical performance.

Working to interpret the "Artist and Performer" in this digital context was a highlight, as we focused on a Face Replacement workflow that maintained the enigmatic smile while allowing for new, emotive storytelling. The collaborative spirit of the project ensured that the Wolford Mona Lisa remained recognizable yet strikingly modern.

The final visual outcome of the Wolford Mona Lisa campaign showcases the power of 3D Animation and high-end rendering to create a seamless bridge between classic art and contemporary commercial appeal.
