Robin Schulz - Rather be Alone | Full Pipeline Production
Mimic Productions delivered the full 3D pipeline for the pioneering music video "Rather Be Alone" for Robin Schulz, a world-first entirely produced using Unreal Engine. We created hyper-realistic digital doubles of Robin Schulz and co-star Toni Garrn through advanced 3D scanning and meticulously handled the motion capture, animation, and final rendering to achieve a high-fidelity, real-time cinematic experience.
Overview
The "Robin Schulz - Rather Be Alone" music video was an ambitious collaboration requiring cutting-edge full 3D production expertise. Mimic Productions partnered with director Robert Wunsch to realize this vision, making it the first music video to be fully produced within the Unreal Engine. Our role encompassed the entire digital human pipeline, from capturing the artists' likenesses to delivering the final animated cinematic. This project showcases Mimic's capability to leverage virtual production techniques for high-end, commercial releases.
The scope included creating photorealistic digital doubles for both Robin Schulz and model Toni Garrn. By utilizing comprehensive 3D scanning and our expertise in character rigging and animation, Mimic ensured the digital avatars maintained the necessary realism and performance fidelity required for this groundbreaking VFX feature.
