Leya Avatar: 3D Scanning and Digital Character Development
Mimic Productions worked with Ikon AG on Leya, a digital influencer brought to life through a realistic CG character. Our contribution combined 3D scanning and basic scan cleanup with character development, lighting and rendering work. The project explored how a recognisable digital personality could appear across different visual settings, with close attention to the relationship between facial detail, the overall character and the light around her.
Overview
Leya was developed as a digital influencer for Ikon AG. Mimic's work started with 3D scanning and basic cleanup, establishing a foundation for the CG character. The project also involved custom lighting and rendering techniques to support a realistic appearance in different lighting situations.
The selected project images bring together a close portrait, a full-body view, an expression study and character details, alongside examples of Leya in finished visual settings. Together, they show how the same character can be presented at different scales, from a detailed face to a complete digital figure. This page documents that character work and the services Mimic contributed.
Project Experience
Scanning and basic cleanup formed the starting point for Mimic's contribution to Leya. The work connected captured physical detail with the development of a digital character. The expression image shown here presents the resulting avatar at close range, where facial proportions and surface detail are especially visible.
The project extended into building a realistic CG model and developing lighting and rendering techniques. The rear view provides a different perspective on Leya's overall character presentation. It complements the portrait and full-body images without repeating the same view of the face.
Leya's finished imagery places the digital character in different visual settings. These examples illustrate the range of presentation explored for the influencer, while Mimic's documented work focused on scanning, cleanup and realistic character development supported by custom lighting and rendering.
