Hugo Boss - Digital Double & Character Creation
It was a privilege to partner with Hugo Boss across two ambitious production phases to translate artistic physical forms into high-end digital assets. From refining scanned animal sculptures to developing four hyper-realistic Digital Double brand ambassadors, we were thrilled to support their vision of a consistent, luxury brand presence across both cinematic and real-time platforms.
Overview
Our collaboration with Hugo Boss was an incredible journey that blended traditional sculpture with modern Character Creation. The first phase focused on the honor of working with the works of sculptor Maximilian Hagstotz, where we transformed raw scans of animal sculptures into polished, "hero" digital assets. We were delighted to help preserve the intricate patterns and textures of these pieces, ensuring they were presentation-ready for global brand visuals.
In the second phase, the partnership expanded into the creation of four lifelike digital humans. It was an exciting challenge to develop these brand ambassadors, focusing on ensuring they looked stunning and performed naturally in any digital environment. Whether appearing in high-end renders or real-time applications, these characters were designed to embody the elegance and precision synonymous with the Hugo Boss name.
Project Experience
To ensure a seamless transition from physical art to digital reality, the Hugo Boss - Digital Double project utilized advanced 3D Scanning cleanup and custom texture painting to honor the original sculpture's detail.
Working alongside the Hugo Boss creative team allowed us to refine the performance of the digital ambassadors, utilizing a specialized Character Creation workflow that ensures natural movement in joints and facial expressions.
The final visual outcome of the Hugo Boss - Digital Double campaign achieved a perfect match between cinematic beauty and real-time flexibility, providing the client with versatile assets for any marketing medium.
Mimic’s Contribution
Digital Double & Character Creation: We were proud to develop four distinct brand ambassadors—two male and two female avatars - focusing on realistic skin tones, lifelike eyes, and hair that maintains its silhouette beautifully across different digital environments.
3D Scanning & Asset Refinement: Supporting the artistic vision of Maximilian Hagstotz, our team performed meticulous scan cleanup and surfacing for the animal sculptures, ensuring the "hero" assets felt tactile and authentic in every frame.
VFX & Real-Time Integration: We focused on creating a robust system that allows the characters to move naturally, implementing specialized fixes for complex movements to ensure the performance remains flawless during Animation.
