It was a privilege to partner with Saatchi & Saatchi to support Galderma’s vision for a sophisticated, data-driven pharmaceutical campaign. We were honored to provide expert Digital Double services, creating high-fidelity anatomical transformations that showcased the progression of skin aging with clinical precision.
Overview
It was an incredible experience to collaborate with the creative teams at Saatchi & Saatchi to develop a series of highly detailed Digital Doubles for Galderma. Our mission was to humanize the science of aging, creating two representative characters, Satu and Marcel, who could serve as the "faces" of dermatological education.
Supporting the director’s vision required a deep dive into forensic anatomy, where we utilized 3D Scanning and advanced VFX workflows to simulate aging and de-aging. Working closely with the client, we ensured that every wrinkle, pigmentation change, and loss of facial volume felt authentic and respectful to the Artist/Performer’s natural likeness.
Project Experience
By utilizing precision 3D Scanning and advanced skin lookdev, the Galderma & Saatchi project allowed us to capture the microscopic details of skin texture, from pore continuity to complex pigmentation.
It was an honor to work with the Artist and Performer to translate their unique facial structures into a series of age-progression sets, ensuring their performance and identity remained consistent throughout the Digital Double aging process.
The final visual outcome of the Galderma & Saatchi campaign provided a seamless, photorealistic reference for aesthetic indicators, proving that high-end VFX can be a powerful tool for scientific storytelling.
Mimic’s Contribution
Digital Double:
We crafted comprehensive age-progression sets (from MN20 to MN70), focusing on the anatomical nuances of sagging, temple volume loss, and chin recession to support Galderma’s educational goals.
VFX & Texture Art:
Our team developed intricate FAS (Flickerless Aging Scale) condition variations, including dehydration, radiance, and elasticity scales, ensuring the VFX remained grounded in medical reality.
Lookdev & Rendering:
We produced multi-light renders and 360-degree turntables, meticulously matching skin tones and "radiance" levels to ensure the digital assets were ready for high-end print brochure material.
