It was an absolute privilege for Mimic Productions to collaborate with Frederik Heyman and the iconic Arca on the "Prada/Rakata" music video. We had the honor of contributing a high-fidelity Digital Double and custom animation, helping to realize a stunning, avant-garde digital world alongside a brilliant creative team.
Overview
Working with Frederik Heyman and Arca was a highlight for our team, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a piece of art that pushes the boundaries of digital identity. The "Prada/Rakata" music video is a masterpiece of transhumanist aesthetics, and being invited to create the Digital Double for such a transformative artist/performer was an exciting challenge for our studio.
The energy in the studio was palpable as we tackled the full 3D pipeline - from 3D Modeling and texturing to rigging and animation. It was inspiring to support Arca’s vision, ensuring that every digital nuance honored their intense and fluid performance style. With the video surpassing 12 million views on YouTube, we are incredibly proud to have played a role in this viral sensation, witnessing how our collaborative VFX work resonated with fans globally.
Project Experience
Collaborating with Frederik Heyman allowed our team to explore the artistic limits of Digital Double creation. It was a fantastic experience to craft a 3D avatar that not only met the high technical standards of the production but also captured the unique, ethereal essence of Arca within the "Prada/Rakata" universe.
The entire team was thrilled to work on the 3D Animation for this project, translating the artist/performer’s dynamic energy into the digital realm. Being entrusted with Arca's movement required a deep appreciation for their performance art, ensuring the rig and motion felt authentic to the "Prada/Rakata" narrative
Seeing Arca "Prada/Rakata" reach over 12 million views has been a rewarding moment for everyone involved at Mimic. It is always a pleasure when our contribution to VFX and character creation helps bring such a distinct and celebrated creative vision to life for a massive global audience.

3D Modeling & Texturing
We loved the process of sculpting the geometry and applying textures to build Arca’s Digital Double. Our team focused on meticulously preserving the artist/performer's distinct features, ensuring the model felt like a true extension of Arca's physical self.
Digital Double Creation
We focused on the modeling and texturing of the character to create a stylized representation of the artist/performer. This digital double creation process involved adapting the digital assets to fit the specific artistic vision of the director.
Rigging & Shading
It was a great technical journey developing a rig that could handle the video's specific demands, paired with advanced shading. We worked to ensure these elements supported the director's lighting concepts, enhancing the overall VFX quality of the piece.
